All of our seeds are non-GMO, open-pollinated, packed for the current growing season, and ship free within U.S. with USPS First Class. Seed/Plant info: Box of chocolates, anyone? Approved by Forrest Gump himself, this rare strain of Carolina Reaper has beautiful chocolate coloring but tastes nothing like chocolate! As a Reaper, this is one of the hottest peppers in the world. This pepper is a cross between the Red Carolina Reaper and the Chocolate Trinidad Moruga Scorpion with heat levels ranging from 1.5-2.2 million Scoville Heat Units 🥵With a very strong floral aroma, the fruity flavor is similar to the red variety but stands out with a unique hint of a smoky flavor upfront. Chocolate Carolina Reapers will start off green and ripen to brown, reaching ~ 1.5 to 2 inches in total length. 90+ days from seed to harvest. Up to 21 days for germination as with most capsicum chinense species. Reapers are the perfect pepper to dehydrate and grind into Carolina Reaper powder that can be used to season all types of meats and cheeses. Plants can grow up to 5’ tall by 4’ wide. Consider yourself warned..FEAR THE REAPER!! Fun fact: In 2013, the Carolina Reaper beat the Trinidad Scorpion "Butch T" pepper to claim the record for being the World's Hottest Pepper. However, in 2017, two new contenders (Dragon's Breath and Pepper X) claimed to be hotter than 2.2 million Scoville, though this has not yet been officially proven. If you like the classic Reaper, then you may be interested in purchasing our Yellow Carolina Reaper or Red Carolina Reaper seeds and plants!
