Description: You can feel the copper maker's hammer on this piece. Nice honest patina. Excellent early copper color in old polish. I would put this piece right around 1800, and American by construction. A finely made piece, top rim slightly out of round as shown. Bottom plate is an inserted reverse cap in design. Interior is beautifully fully tinned with amazing patina. A very strong bold piece in excellent condition to be over 200 years of age. This piece was found in Central rural New York many years ago. Rarely seen example. These are rare to find these days, especially in this condition. A finely early example with a rolled top rim. This coming from my personal collection. I am a 3rd generation early American hearthware and utilitarian collector. My pieces range in age from American colonial first settlement period to roughly 1840.
