Description: This is a Coast Salish (also labeled Siwash) wet gathering basket or strainer. It would be used to gather clams or other wet foods. This seems to be a pretty old one, The old tag attests to its age, as well as the natural age of the basket. It's dirty inside. 5.25" tall, 8" diameter. A really nice Northwest Coast basket from my late husband's collection. British Columbia.
