Coleman lantern lamp 242K - 6/35- fully serviced and working

Item Description You are bidding on a Coleman Canada 242K lantern, dated June 1935. It has all the features of a 242K, pinned pump, straight pick up tube, hex bolt on the filler cap, slightly different vent nut except the cage does not have the lighing door. It has been confirmed by the leading experts as a 242K, it is NOT a 247 as the earliest this model was shown in catalouges was 1937.It runs on Paraffin/Kerosene and takes Coleman No99 mantles. Comes with non preiod correct Coleman Globe. Because of the type of NRV, it takes 70 pumps instead of the normal 30 to pressurize this to working pressure. This model is very rare in Europe/Asia/US and Canada and is highly sought after. Condition There is loss of enamel to the top and side of the ventilator. The fount has a couple of small dents. There is loss of nickle plating to the burner cage/air tubes, pump assembly and filler cap. These are all consummate with age. Please see photo's. Servicing History It has been taken apart, inspected, cleaned, rebuilt and tested. The fount has been pressure tested at 2 Bar (30psi) for 24 hours. These normally run at 1 Bar (15psi). The fount has also been dunk tested in water and no leaks were found. The filler cap gasket has been replaced. The valve stem packing has been replaced. The airtube/mixing chamber/burner tubes have been cleaned in an Ultrasonic Cleaner. The fount has been re-plated, the pump tube has been repaired in the past. The NRV check valve has been replaced with a Northstar check valve(safer). It is in fully working order, no guarantee is suppllied or implied. Postage Will ship worldwide.
