Collins Rare 26U-1 Vintage Compressor Limiter

Description: This is a very rare vintage white Collins 26U1 from the late 1960's early 1970. Collins used this round emblem ( meatball) from late 1960 to 1972. I hate to part with it but I am down sizing and decided to keep my Collins 26U2 as its 2 26U1's in a single smaller chassis . This is a very late round emblem 26U1 serial number 1717 . I had over 20 of these limiters and this one and the one I sold in another listing are the 2 that I kept for myself over the past 35+ years . The release and attack are inside but can be move to the front without adding new holes . Move the meter indicator inside and set to +4db and add a dial plate and move the release there. Then remove the on/off switch to inside ( or a switch on the back of the attack control) and add a dial plate and the attack control will be where the on off switch is now located. This way you do not have to open the front panel to adjust release and attack . If you every want to put it back to stock (?) you can without any holes drilled into the face plate. I have only seen 2 other white /light gray 26U-1 limiters in the past 40 years . This 26U1 is currently working great, and has been re-capped, but it is over 55 years old and could develop problem that is currently unseen , tubes ect. I am more than willing to help if a problem does develop. But when it leaves my shop it will be completely operational. Feel free to contact me with any questions or request.
