Description: This is an original 1918 leather cover printing of the Common Service Book of the Lutheran Church, published by the Board of Publication of the United Lutheran Church in America. As you can see in the contents page in my 6th photo, this book contains a 310-page section on Lutheran services and a 587-page hymnal section. A name is inscribed with gold-colored ink on the front cover. Overall, this volume, although complete, is in distressed or rough condition. You'll see in my first three photos that the covers have extensive wear, including fraying along all edges, tearing at the top and bottom of the spine, some plastic tape along the top and right edges of the front cover, and some scuffs and white marks. Both covers are also loose from the binding, with some splitting where the covers meet the binding, as shown with the inside of the front cover in my 4th photo. Inside, the pages are mostly clean, but several pages have stains, wrinkles, small edge tears, and writing/marking, and many pages toward the back have pressure marks and/or rust marks from removed paper clips. Many pages near the front of the book have a lot of wear and wrinkling, and some of the tears have been patched with plastic tape, an example of which is in my 8th photo. Next, in my 9th photo, you'll see that the two sheets containing pages 47-50 are completely detached (and have extensive edge wear) but still present and still included with the book. The other pages are still rather well bound.
