I play trumpet and cornet with a municipal brass band still. I play Eb cornet in one of the bands I participate in, and Bb cornet in a municipal band. I have played since 1960 or so. I taught band for a while, and have played and collected cornets and trumpets all these years. This auction includes the Trumpet, with case, and mouthpiece. My little devil is not included! There has been interest over the years for a trumpet in E natural for various reasons, probably mostly to play the Hummel in the correct (original) key. I have played Eb and D trumpets for years, and was interested in this horn, but have recently decided to cut back on performing, and to sell off a lot of my collection. I assume the valveset is Chinese, and it has the serial number of 4. I don't know who made the bells. I was told by the person I got this from that it was built by a tech who at one time workd for Thein. This trumpet was acquired around a year or so just to experiment with. I had my tech shorten the first slide to the correct length for E natural, and I made a brass spacer to adjust that slide to Eb. This horn has two bells, one to play in E natural, the other for Eb, and separate third slides for each key and a spacer to adapt the first slide to Eb. The trumpet is tuned by adjusting the bell. This instrument is a bit like the Schilke E3L, but not as bright and edgy as the Schilke. I have played it on the Eb side during sessions with our (non traditional) Brass Bande for the Eb Soprano and it was capable of playing in tune, with some care from me.I am an experienced player and have been renovating trumpets and cornets for over 63 years. I have cut back on my performing due to my wife's recent stroke (she is doing fine, but still has some memory issues), so I am selling out my wretched excess of horns.CONDITION: This instrument is a custom made instrument in good playing condition. It sounds good, but does not sound as shrill as many Eb horns, and I am a regular player with a degree in trumpet performance and 58 years experience. CASE: The case is a Bach Strad style hard side case with a replaced handle and one of the latches doesn't have a good spring.MOUTHPIECE: I have not included a mouthpiece, assuming if you are interested, you likely have one.Shipping: Shipping in the continental US will be FREE. I will ship to some other locations, outside the 50 US states will be through EBay's Global Shipping Program. WHY BUY A QUALITY ASSURED INSTRUMENT FROM AN EXPERIENCED SELLER SUCH AS MYSELF? I am an experienced trumpet player, collector, and teacher. I have collected, repaired, and played trumpets for over 48 years. As a knowledgeable and experienced amateur, I have a lower cost of operation than a commercial enterprise, and can keep my costs low. You can see from my eBay rating that I have been careful to insure that I only supply quality instruments, and inspect, prepare, and describe them properly. I have thoroughly inspected this instrument, replaced the felts and corks and aligned the valves as needed, and made sure that it plays properly, and has proper tone for your beginner. I have cleaned the instrument thoroughly, polished all slides to prevent corrosion from locking the slides and valves, and properly lubricated the instrument with high quality lubricant. Finally, I have been asked whether this is recommended as a student instrument, and I can say that these instruments have been highly rated by many teachers for beginners and advanced players, but I suggest that anyone buying an instrument for a younger student ask his or her teachers if they agree with that brand. Many teachers do have preferences, and this can affect a student's progress. \I will, however, flatly state that many of the "bargain basement" new instruments from the unknown manufacturers (even when they are branded, you may not know who made them) are inferior. Parts for repair, or even the repairs themselves are not available, due to odd pieces, or inferior materials. Internal dimensions and correct alloys are critical on all musical instruments. A shiny (or odd colored) instrument with inferior playing qualities will soon discourage even the most eager student. THIS INSTRUMENT IS SOLD AS IS. THIS DESCRIPTION IS AS ACCURATE AS POSSIBLE. I AM A LONG TIME TRUMPET PLAYER AND PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER, AND CONTINUE TO PLAY AND COLLECT INSTRUMENTS OF ALL QUALITIES AND AGES. THE INSTRUMENT WILL BE PROPERLY PACKED, AND INSURED FOR THE SALE PRICE. I will ship internationally (some countries) and US buyer shipping and handling by USPS Third Day Priority. My shipping price includes insurance for the sale value. I insist on insurance for the sale price at least. Other locations please contact me. I WILL NOT insure this instrument for less than the sale price. I will NOT ship this outside of the US UNLESS the package can be tracked to the receiver!! Payment by PayPal only!!Please e-mail me with questions. Thanks for looking and happy bidding!!
