One of her goals was to inspire creativity in all. She loved both Art Deco and Nouveau, which is evident in her quilt and needlework patterns. Merrily McKim Tuohey, the youngest of the McKim granddaughters, is the one that followed Ruby’s passion for art. Her oldest daughter, Delia Brianne Tuohey, has also inherited the family passion for art. Since childhood she has dabbled in watercolor, acrylic and pen. Repeating patterns have always intrigued her, and in the last 5 years she discovered “doodle art”, also called zentangle. Merrily and Delia have collaborated on a unique series of coloring pages that combine geometric and organic forms based around Ruby's Flower Garden Quilt series patterns.
