The park's European setting necessitated specific design adjustments. Designers re-envisioned Sleeping Beauty Castle, taking into account the presence of numerous authentic castles across Europe. To adapt to the Parisian climate, covered walkways, known as "arcades," were incorporated, and Michael Eisner, the then-CEO of The Walt Disney Company, mandated the installation of 35 fireplaces in the park's hotels and restaurants. In 2016, Disneyland Park attracted approximately 8.4 million visitors, establishing it as the most-visited theme park in Europe and the 13th most-visited theme park worldwide.
