Description: ~*FABULOUS VINTAGE RED 1950s POLKA DOT FULL CIRCLE COTTON PARTY DRESS/FROCK XS*~ ❤️ Really, really fabulous 1950s era party frock in a fantastic 100% cotton polka dot fabric of white dots on true red background. The material is slightly "textured" with woven "waves". I hope you can see this effect in the photos. When I found this at the estate sale I nearly fainted. Of course it's way too small for me... so someone else can can enjoy this rare beauty. It's got all the whistles and bells you'd expect in such a dress. She's expertly made at home by a rather talented seamstress of a bygone era. There is piping in the seams. Skirt is a full circle with FOUR ruffled layers over a core skirt that is reinforced inside with a sort of built in petticoat. It just gives the skirt extra body, basically. Exact technical term for it is "underlining." Bodice is dart fitted with pretty bows in back at the back neckline and waist - plus hooks and eyes for extra security. There's the standard ribbon waist stay inside to help keep the shape of the waist. And, it's in beautiful condition with no flaws I can find. Size is about an extra small. Bust will fit 32 inches and waist is 23 inches. (note there is plenty of fabric inside to let this out a bit in either bust or waist area by at least one "size" if not several due to generous seam allowance) Hips are full and overall length from shoulder to hemline is 43 inches.
