Description: ☆Fender USA DUO-SONIC 1961 Maroon Burst☆Duo-Sonic 1961 Maroon Burst☆Vintage Used Item This is a 1961 Maroon Burst Diosonic, but it seems to have been completed by scraping together parts that are common at auctions. 〇Body & Neck: The body color was originally Maroon Burst, as can be seen from the pickup cavity, and it appears to have been refinished in the same color, but it seems that it has been a while since it was refinished, and there are areas where the lacquer has adhered and the lacquer has worn around the joints of the boards, making the joints visible. There are also dents in the original body. The neck is also said to be the same original as the 1961 body, but it has been refinished to make the most of the tiger stripe, and unfortunately, the decals have been reapplied and the serial number on the neck end has disappeared. However, it has a beautiful tiger-striped neck that sometimes appears on vintage Fenders from around 1960 to 1963 (it has a dark tiger-striped neck similar to the necks of my other 1962 DUO-SONIC and 1963 TELECASTER). It is very rigid and stable, and the frets are still vintage Fender frets, so it is likely to be original, and it is in good condition with little wear. Of course, the truss rod has hardly been tightened and is in a flat state. The pegs are stamped with KLUSON, but judging from the shape of the bushes, it is likely to be an OEM Gotoh model used in realistic copy models of Japanese vintage. Unfortunately, there are traces of the pegs having been replaced many times under the pegs, and although the holes have been filled and repaired with paint, there is one broken screw. (There is no problem with installing KLUSON type pegs.) Also, although it is not obvious unless you remove the pegs, the holes for the peg bushes were also enlarged, but they have been converted with plastic parts and replaced with normal peg bushes. Assembly: The pickguard is original, and the original metal plate is on the back of the pickguard, but there are traces of the pickguard cracking due to distortion caused by aging (the thinnest part at the top left), and it has been repaired by gluing it back together and matching the color with lacquer. I was told that the pickups are original, but I don't think they are original. The pots and toggle switches are also recent, but the wiring is the same as the original, and the sound is front <- serial connection -> rear ♪ As for the bridge, the size does not quite match the pickguard, so there is a part where the pickguard and bridge overlap slightly. After comparing it to all the DUO-SONICs I own, I think this bridge is a relic from a DUO-SONIC that was reissued in recent years. The knobs also appear to be recent relics. Other The neck plate is probably the original from 1961, with a five-digit serial number of 51XXX, but it appears to have been re-plated during restoration and is in very good condition. It weighs 2.9kg, and the overall balance is good, so I think it is an excellent piece. I was able to get parts such as a toggle switch, so I upgraded the circuit. Now it's a little closer to the original, so thank you for your consideration. >>>Please refer to the 10th photo.
