Description: This is a lovely and Fine Antique Old American Impressionist Seascape Oil Painting on canvas, by late 19th c. - early 20th c. Washington D.C. Impressionist painter, M.F. Bradshaw. Unfortunately, there is very little biographical information on this talented artist, but perhaps you know more about them or their work? This piece depicts a stunning and finely rendered coastal seascape scene, with intricately painted aquamarine ocean waves crashing against the rocks and coastline of the shore. Pinkish hued, delicately painted white clouds cover the sky above, creating and wonderful and lifelike plein air scene. Signed: "M.F. Bradshaw" in the lower left corner. This artwork likely dates to the late 1890's - 1910's. Approximately 20 1/4 x 32 1/4 inches (including frame.) Actual artwork is approximately 16 x 28 inches. Very good condition for age and storage, with some light speckles of soiling to the painted surface, one small tear on the left side of the canvas, and moderate edge wear and material loss to the original period ornate gilded wood frame (please see photos carefully.) A very similarly sized and shaped painting by M.F. Bradshaw was sold in the past by a dealer in Pasadena, California, and the subject of that piece was clearly a California landscape. I suspect that this artist traveled to California or possibly moved there at sometime during the turn of the century, and that this painting depicts a California coastal scene. Acquired from an old collection in Los Angeles County, California. If you like what you see, I encourage you to make an Offer.
