His love of books, art and antiques was enhanced by his extensive travel throughout his life. His passion for history, architecture and art were the basis of his incredible personal library collection. Trained as an architect, he became an "architectural detective." Through his personal investigation, paint analysis, and his ability to retain all of the knowledge he acquired through reading his personal library resources, he would trace the history and evolution of buildings, their furnishings and finishes. He led the the restoration of historic interior designing and sourcing furniture, carpets and wallpaper in places as diverse as the Kate Mullaney House in Troy, the NY State Capital, Yin Yu Tang in Salem, Homewood House at Johns Hopkins University, and Alexander Hamilton's home in NYC. Note: Some of the books in this collection have mylar sleeves for protection, but if a book is ex libris it will be stated in the description. Please note:Book Grading is very subjective.I will photograph and note the defects I observe. "Expected vintage wear" includes light soiling, some corner bends (light), some minor scuffs. I love to read-some books are considered reading copy.
