Franklin Mint's original 1951 Hudson Hornet Nascar Smokey's edition

Description: Here is a rare Franklin Mint 1/24 scale 1951 Hudson Hornet original Nascar Race Car in the Marshall Teague #6 livery. This original issue from FM has the Daytona Beach Fla. Smokey's Garage decal on the front fenders as a sponsor. Smokey's Garage sponsored the #92 Herb Thomas's car, not this one. Marshall Teague's family requested that the decal be removed, and the first issue was recalled. No one knows the number, but all issued models did not make it back to the factory. This being one of them. The Smokey's decal was removed and Pure-Premium decals tried to cover the decal. Some of the first decals did not cover entirely so the decal was lengthened. Collectors can recognize this if paying attention. The paperwork is original as well as an advertisement page from a car magazine is included. Attached to the car is an original factory ID tag. The only negative is shown in the last picture. It was taken in the sunlight and shows the only paint rash on the passenger side of the hood. It is very light and is not notable on display. Note: It is in excellent condition and will be placed in an original Hudson B11XN69 Styrofoam insert and the outer shipping box. I hope you won't be disappointed with this purchase.
