FRED HARVEY (2) TURQUOISE SILVER RING 7.8 GMS 1940'S TUCSON ESTATE

Description: From a Catalina Foothills estate in Tucson is this less common version of an I believe 1940's or so Fred Harvey style silver ring with bold decorative treatment and two diamond shaped turquoise stones. The obviously vintage ornament is an absolute icon of time and place, and confirms the considerable heights of charm to be found within this visitor oriented genre. Both turquoise sets are nicely patinated, having achieved "the look" you want . The silver is similarly blessed with just enough genuine evidence of service to validate its history - as someone once said, that's a good thing. There is an old style all caps "STERLING" at the back of the shank. Once upon a time these period objects of desire were a possible discovery at trading post rest stops in the hinterlands - not so much anymore. If you once missed your chance, an opportunity. Weight is good for the form at about 7.8 grams on my portable digital scale. Condition is quite fine with an aura of time to the surfaces. Be aware I have avoided every urge to refresh away or "improve upon any natural toning - you want that done you do it. There is an ancient tight line on one stone I'll mention here so you won't. I see no evidence of any subsequent size alterations at the back of the shank. The pics should give a good idea of appearance and condition - it has achieved every bit of "the look" you want. Ring size is about 7 1/2 on my jeweler's ring mandrel (the lower edge of the shank reaches that line on the mandrel). About 1 3/8 in. vertical at the front - good for wearing everyday, and yes it will be noticed. If you prefer historic Southwestern silver adornment over things more recent, or simply wish a single immediate improvement to the ambiance of each day, this will have great meaning for you.
