German Schwerer Armored Command Railcar by Dragon (#6071)

Description: Listing is for an unbuilt, unpainted, 1:35 scale armored railcar by Dragon (Item #6071). It was released as part of their “1:35 ’39-’45 series” of World War II kits. During WWII, Germany developed and ran various armored trains to protect the railway. Since rail transportation was critical to the German war effort during WWII, such units were produced as a defense against sabotage and attacks by partisans.One of them was the heavy armored reconnaissance train developed by Steyr Daimler. The armored train consisted of vehicles with various equipment, including a command vehicle (equipped with communication equipment and medical staff), infantry transport vehicle, and an artillery vehicle (equipped with a gun turret). This listing is for the “Kommandowagen” (aka command car). With its antenna array, it is easily distinguishable from the others.Kit is molded in gray plastic and includes decals, instructions with a marking and painting guide and a section of rail bed for displaying it when built. Surprisingly, no figure was included (however, I scrounged one out of another kit – after all, you can’t have a command car without a commander).Although the box has been opened, it is listed as new because parts are still sealed in their original plastic bags. (To keep parts from being damaged during shipment, bubble wrap will be interwoven to separate sprues.) Please note that no cement or paint is included.
