Released in 1942, this model is one of the few long-lived models among the Gibson brand, and has never been discontinued to this day. This instrument is a "J-45 DELUXE" manufactured around 1974-75. After a minor change to a square shoulder shape, the top brace was changed to a double X pattern, and it has a distinctive specification. Spruce top, mahogany sides and back, mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard and bridge, tortoiseshell large pickguard, nickel Kluson Deluxe pegs. With a long scale of 644mm, it has a bold, rugged, rough and intense sound, unlike the previous 45s, which were somewhat loose and groovy. The binding of the J-45 from this period was made of celluloid, and many of them have collapsed due to aging, but this one has been replaced with a binding and fully refinished, so you can use it without worrying about the delicacy of being made in the 1970s. In addition, the crack on the edge of the fingerboard on the first string side of the top has been repaired by patching it from the inside. There is some warping around the pickguard. You can really taste the aging of the sound, and enjoy a 45 sound that is completely different from current products.
