In early (Feb.) 2004, GM changed the head bolt design style to the new style which are all the shorter length. NOTE: 1997-2003 blocks and some 2004 blocks used 3 different lengths of head bolts and 2004 and up used 2 lengths, with the exception of the LS9. If the block is 2004, the bolt length must be verified before purchase as it was a transition year. This kit used to service engines for a cam swap plus additional parts replacement. These kits contain all the hardware that needs to be replaced when doing a cam swap on a new or used LS engine. All bolts are Torque-To-Yield on any LS platform, therefore they need to be replaced. In addition to these bolts, the kits have other items that wear or in time need to be replaced before failure happens. All of these parts can be removed and replaced during the cam swap.
