Description: Hello There! Up for bid is an 'Iron Mountain' No 8 Chicken Pan made by Griswold. The pan has been lovingly restored (see notes below). With heat ring and no wobble or spin. It makes a great chicken frying pan, chili pot, Dutch oven and more! There are spots/discoloration on the lid that I believe will even out with use. There is considerable pitting on the bottom. Please see photos and ask all questions before bidding. It is not common to find these pan with matching lids- but here you have one! · I am not a cast iron expert. The information here is taken directly from the pans and dates, if any, are based on information in the three books on my shelf and numerous websites. · Prices are based on sold prices of the same/very similar pieces on eBay. Prices also reflect the condition of the pan before restoring and the amount of work that goes into restoring any piece of cast iron. · My restoration process includes lye bath (time varies from 2 to 6 days) and vinegar bath as needed to remove all rust. 3-4 rounds of seasoning. All cast iron pans are shipped with tips for cleaning, using and further seasoning if desired. (The best way to season a pan is to cook in it!)· Please look carefully at the pictures and ask any questions before bidding as I cannot offer returns on any item. · Disclaimer: all vintage cast iron cookware will show markings from utensils, uneven coloration, slight pitting, consistent with the age of the piece. I do my best to accurately describe the condition.Please note: any of the pieces I offer that mention ‘wobble’ or ‘spin’ in the description are 100% suitable for cooking on a gas stove or in any oven. I can’t vouch for those pieces on an electric range as I don’t own one to test it out.
