Description: Ceylon cinnamon, not your mothers cinnamon Consumed mostly in Europe and South America, Ceylon Cinnamon a the rarest and most valuable form of cinnamon in the world today. It is, at times, referred to as true cinnamon but do not be mistaken, this is not like any cinnamon you have ever tasted. Its flavor and aroma profile is delicate, sweet and slightly citrus. It is entirely different to other types of cinnamon commonly found or consumed in the United States. Our Cinnamon is available to purchase in both ground cinnamon powder and 5 inch cinnamon quills This beautifully scented cinnamon packs a delicate punch and goes great in any dish or recipe you previously used Cassia cinnamon or other varieties of the cinnamon spice. Grown, harvested and dried on a family estate located in Sri Lanka, Ceylon cinnamon (cinnamomum verum)is a real treat to use. Sri Lanka is the birthplace of the true cinnamon and the worlds largest exporter. In South America true cinnamon is commonly used in moles and other sauce and rubs Ceylon cinnamon is used in Mexican chocolate and other goods or drinks such as horchata, flan or other familiar favorites . For this reason, Ceylon Cinnamon is commonly referred to as Mexican cinnamon and although Mexico does grow small amount of this product it is almost entirely imported from Sri Lanka. Adding a touch of Cinnamon powder to berries, oatmeal, protein shakes and many other applications make it a wonderful treat. Packed in the USA and ground fresh this cinnamon is certified organic by both the USDA and Control Union organic EU. We hope you love this product as much as we do and we know your cinnamon buns will thank you. Fun Fact about Ceylon Cinnamon, it was Once More Precious than Gold.... aren’t we glad we are not paying those prices. Cinnamon is one of the oldest spices known to humanity. It was mentioned in the Bible, used in ancient Egypt and has caused countries to go to war. Cinnamon was once so highly treasured that it was considered more precious than gold for a period of time. We sure cannot imagine our kitchen or pantry without it.
