Description: Fresh from a barn in Maine. I have bought and sold Harley Davidson parts for 20 years, and have a good feel for Harley parts in general, but this piece has been elusive as to what it is and what it fits. This was in a bunch of parts I purchased years ago, but I have never seen another one like it nor have I ever seen it in a parts manual. This is a 3/16" plate about 3 1/2" by 8" with four lock down bolts for attaching it to something else. A smaller plate is attached to one end by two of the four mounting brackets, one on each corner. The main plate has a slight curl on one side on both ends and there are no other holes drilled in the main or the smaller top plate. One of the parts guys, from a old dealership family, thought it might be from a police radio from the 30's or 40's or 50's. but who knows. It is painted, not powder coated, and was made during the day of real steel. The four corner brackets bolts are about 3" long and have threads on one end and a 90 degree bend to anchor it to something, and a couple have an additional small extension piece on the bolts. I am not sure of this being a Harley Davidson piece as it might also be from an Indian, or a Henderson or a Excelsior or who knows what else. All help in identifying this will be greatly appreciated.
