Description: This listing is for Harry Houdini's, Walking Through a Brick Wall illusion Handbill. Houdini challenged a local Brick Layers Union to build a brick wall that he could not walk through. They eagerly accepted the challenge. Houdini had the wall built in the center of the stage with the end of the wall facing the audience. The wall was elevated, just enough to slide a large rug under it-- to prove that no trap doors were involved. Two dressing screens were placed on each side of the center of the wall. Houdini entered one screen, raised his hands and shouted, "Here I AM"Three seconds later, his hands were seen raised over the dressing screen, on the other side of the wall, Where he shouted, "Now I Am Here." Sure enough, the dressing screen was removed and there stood Houdini! He had passed through the wall! The crowd went WILD! This is a reprint handbill.
