Description: This is a 47 ct Coober Pedy black opal solid cabochon newly set in sterling silver for a pendant. In this setting it is a "casual" piece, goes with blue jeans, etc, not a piece for formal wear. This stone has been cut for several years, but I just had it professionally set for sale. Both the cutting and setting were done by American craftsman. I am not an opal expert and cannot give an official grade on the stone but I would say it is a mid grade black opal. My photography does not do it justice. There are a few very minor flaws that can be seen in the magnified photo, but these would not be visible to a casual observer.
