Later she was graduated from Mt. Holyoke College and did graduate study at George Washington University in Washington, D. C. In 1922 she was sent as a delegate representing the Indian students in the United States to the World's Student Christian Federation Conference in Peking, China. She was first a teacher of English at Haskell Institute in Lawrence, Kansas, and then was assigned to do guidance and placement work for the Indian Service, with headquarters in Kansas City, Missouri. In 1931 she became Guidance Officer for the entire Indian service, a position she held for more than twelve years.
