An Irish year 2000 Cased Decimal coin set from £I down to 1p in Brilliant Un-circulated Condition as issued by the Central Bank of Ireland. According to the internet, they were the the Last Ever Irish decimal coins to be issued by Ireland prior to the adoption of the Euro in 2002. Because all eyes were on the new Euro coins, this set was largely overlooked by collectors - so is quite difficult to find and prices reflect that fact. This set comes complete with an outer sleeve of similar design to the set, and the coins themselves are sealed in an airtight plastic holder . They are contained in an attractive Black case illustrating the gold Broighter boat dating back to Celtic times. The back of the case shows the Central Bank Seal (designed by Ivan Mestrovic).
