Johannes Norretranders (1871-1957) Born in Virum, Denmark in 1871. Educated at the Royal academy in 1890 and later attended the free study school where he was a pupil of the Danish master impressionist P.S. Kroyer. Norretranders worked and lived in Paris from 1909-1910. He is best known for his series of portraits and figure scenes and did the illustrations for the Danish translation of Alexander Dumas musketeer novels in 1900.
