Book was rebound for Nathaniel Prentice (Prentiss) Banks (1816-1894), who was a Union General in the Civil War, Governor of Massachusetts and member of Congress. This comprehensive report by the Director of the United States Geological Survey describes all progress and discoveries made during the fiscal year ending June 30th, 1887.
