Description: Krakauer, Jon. Into Thin Air: A Personal Account of the Mount Everest Disaster. New York: Villard, 1997. Offered for sale is a copy of Jon Krakauer's harrowing memoir (I myself have read it five or six times) Into Thin Air--the first edition (so stated), the first printing, of 1997.* This copy is in very good and perhaps near-fine condition: the bright, glossy, unclipped jacket, secure in Mylar, is slightly worn and wrinkled. The interior is free of underscores annotations, &c. The boards are yellowing somewhat, esp. at the extremities. The book will be posted by USPS Media Mail. Buyers abroad will be served by eBay's International Shipping Program. *N.B. Villard (i.e. Random House) prints the words "First Edition" in small capitals to indicate that a given copy is from the first printing. The absence of a "1" in the number-line does not imply a second printing. Copies with number-lines that include a "1" and the letter "B" are later (probably eleventh) printings.
