Description: Last Supplement to the Whole Earth Catalog, March 1971. Condition: In book collector terminology, this magazine is internally Very Fine, but Very Good+ overall due to light rub on back cover. At the height of the "hippie movement," the anti-war and psychedelic art movements, the March 1971 Last Supplement to the Whole Earth Catalog provided an escape from the quickly approaching future by providing aspects of a kinder, gentler, non-automated world. It also imparted insight into the social and political conditions of the time along with information on environmental concerns that continue to this day. Introduced by an iconic Robert Crumb cover comprising all his classic characters assembled in a take-off on the Last Supper, this issue contains a group of Ken Kesey pieces on The Bible, I Ching, Mantras, and Martin Buber. Still more, there's a full-page ad for Abbie Hoffman's Steal This Book, Ellen Sanders' We Are Endangered Species, poetry by Wendell Berry and Allen Ginsberg, and many other authors and artists. The final page is an invitation to "an exclusive party to celebrate the demise of the Whole Earth Catalog" in San Francisco on June 11, 1971.
