Description: Due to the increase in volume of packages being shipped through the US Postal System, shipping times have occasionally been longer than those estimated by either eBay or the USPS tracking tool. Made during the year that this country celebrated the Bicentennial, 1976 ...offered in plenty of time for the Semiquincentennialin 2026. This oval redware shallow bowl in yellow with green accentsis pottery from the Pennsylvania collector/teacher/potter/artist Lester Breininger (1935-2011) and his wife Barbara. This 11.25" by 8.5" sgraffito platter or shallow bowl is decorated with traditional Pennsylvania Dutch style flowers. This has a wavy/ruffled edge and is about 1.75" deep. That being said, there are someimperfections that are not unusual to find in hand-made pottery pieces ... some small bubbles and foreign matter in the clear glaze, some areas where the glaze is thinner than the surrounding areas, some indentations made in the clay when it was still damp(mostly on the underside). There is crazing to the clear glaze in areas, examples are shown in photos #12 and #13.Along the rim there are some small areas where the glaze haspopped or flaked on the edge. These aren't deep like chips, but they can be felt. One pop is shown in photos #14 and #15.Another smaller pop is shown in photos #16 and #17.Photos #18 and #19 are two different pops that are roughly thesame small size ( ⅛" or smaller) as the pop shown in #16 and #17.Wood plate stand is not included in this listing.
