Description: This auction is for an antique watercolor by Anna T. Swinburne. The only reference I could find says she was a painter in New York between 1900 and 1904. Another painting was dated 1910. I would date this one 1900 - 1915. It is a lovely old landscape depicting a path thru the woods going a cabin in the distance. The path runs along a stream. Something about the bareness of the trees and the flowers blooming along the path makes me think of springtime. The painting is on cardboard and is the same size as the inside of the frame. The painting measures approximately 6" wide, 18" tall. The frame measures 7" wide, 19" tall. The painting is signed in the lower right "T.Swinburne". I have found a couple of other landscapes on line attributed to Anna T. Swinburne with the same style of signature. No matting. Glass covers the painting. You can see reflections on several photos. The paper backing is torn and just about gone. The painting looks good, I see no damage to it. This is an "As-Is" auction so please see all photos and feel free to ask questions.
