M1903A3 Magazine Cutoff Type 3 Smith Corona and Replacements, Five Styles (68xx)

Description: Orange Coast AuctionsDescription M1903A3 Rifle Magazine Cutoffs. These are the "Type 3" cutoffs as described in The Model 1903 Springfield Rifle and its Variations by Poyer and The Collectable '03 by Harrison. This style was used on all Smith Corona manufactured rifles and probably used as replacement parts on other '03s. They have sanserif ("block") lettering and have the distinctive flat profile forward of the lever. Of the Type 3 cutoffs, we have five variations based on the markings. CC: These are the most common. Most have a black finish though some are more gray. N: These have a smooth medium black finish, possibly an oil-quenched finish. The rear-facing edge of the lever is marked "N". G: These have a gray phosphate-Parkerized finish with a "G" on the rear-facing edge of the lever. There are no more "G" marked cutoffs with the polished "ON" side of the lever. B: These have a semi-bright black finish. The rear-facing edge of the lever is marked with the "B" or a "B" and the flaming bomb mark. B14: These have a more polished and dark black finish. The rear-facing edge of the lever is marked "B14". These are all original USGI parts. They were stored in grease for a long time. We have cleaned and sorted them.
