Description: Exquisite Marcel Boucher Coral Branch Brooch. Fantastic, high quality, nice weight, coral brooch. Realistically textured branches. Brooch measures 2.75" inches long and 1.5" inches tall. Marcel Boucher(18981965) was a French jeweller. In the early 1920s, he moved to New York City, where he developed a passion for jewellery design, studying under Pierre Cartieras an apprentice. By the 1930s, he was working for Mazer Brothers. However, in 1937 he decided to establish his own company, which he called Marcel Boucher and Cie. In 1965, Boucher died, and his wife Sandra (who was once the lead jewelry designer for Harry Winston) took over her husband's company. The brooch is signed and numbered 9766 p which indicates it was created in the 1960's. A real work of art, very elegant!! A hard-to-find piece.
