C3 multiplexer (again, not included) will be connected through the serial port, which is the advantage of the set-up - D630 is one of the latest laptops with a dedicated RS232 port. Please note - I own a C3 multiplexer and have tested the laptop. It does work! The Dell D630 runs the OS and Star SDS in native form.No VMWare or other types of virtual machines are needed. Tested and shown to work - please watch the video! The installed software is activated until 01-01-2035 --- Mercedes Benz Star SDS diagnostic system is version 12/2014 Operating system is Windows XP SP3.This is a 32-bit version of the OS, which is very reliable for this setup and supports HHTWin (please read below) Laptop is D630 (Intel CoreDuo T7300 | 2.0 GHz | 1.0 GB RAM | 100 GB HDD) and comes with an AC adapter.Laptop is very good working condition. Screen is excellent.Cosmetic condition is not perfect with some small scuffs on the case being present. New CMOS battery. Two relatively minor issues make this more of a desktop rather than a laptop:1. Missing "v" key on the keyboard, which is the reason an external Dell keyboard is included. 2. Battery cannot be used (I have tried several and the laptop does not recognize them), which means that the AC adapter must be connected all the time. --- The software package includes Xentry / DAS / HHTWin / EPC / WIS / StarFinder. The programs Xentry/DAS/HHTWin are part of the proprietary MB interface that allows communication with all electronic modules of the cars and trucks Mercedes Benz produced in the last ca. 30 years.With Xentry/DAS/HHTWin one is able to:- read ALL trouble codes- erase ALL trouble codes- read live-data- do component testing- and much more, all done OFFLINE *A multiplexer unit is needed to perform these functions* WIS is a database with all workshop manuals with step-by-step repair guides (searchable and printable). StarFinder is the program that will help you find the locations of electronic components (with detailed pictures) and ALL electrical wiring diagrams. EPC is the electronic parts catalog HHTWin is a must-use software for older models, such as the W140s and R129s with the 38-pin diagnostic connector in the engine bay. Please note that newer versions of Star SDS [such as Xentry 2020 available in another listing of mine] DO NOT support this application, and if your intention is to use C3 MUX on older Benz, this is the version for you. SDconnect (the software to connect a C4 multiplexer) is also installed. Configuration of the C4 multiplexer is up to the user. --- the fine print --- This is a plug-and-play computer system, but it does require a C3 multiplexer and cables to connect to a vehicle (must be sourced separately). It has been built and tested by me. NO RETURNS. I am not a trained mechanic and cannot provide answers as to how to use it for a specific model. --- PS ---- If you already have a Dell D630/830 computer, and would like a similar system, please contact me. I will install the HDD/software for you, but the computer will need to be shipped to me (and back to you) at your expense. Guaranteed that it will work out of the box when you get it back.
