Description: This original antique photograph features a PARLOR SALOON from around 1890s in Winslow, Arizona. The image is oriented in landscape with dimensions of 5 x 7 inches. It is signed on the back with the saloon name, location and also the name “Jess Hohn”. It sepia color on cardboard and paper material. The photograph is an original production mounted on cardboard and is a one of a kind (OOAK) piece. This extremel rare photograph of the Parlor Saloon was probably taken sometime during the saloons hay day. As you will see in my listing, I’ve also provided a picture of the Winslow Mail where the saloon advertised on the front page in 1897. Their ad read as followed “KARRIGAN & BAUERBACH. PARLOR SALOON • linest Brands of Kentucky Whiskies STARGO * CIGARS * ON * HAND. & HEADQUARTERS FOR RAILROAD MEN. 3. RAILROAD AVENUE WINSLOW, ARIZONA.” The saloon could’ve been operating even earlier since the railroad first entered Winslow in 1880. Winslow was born as a railroad hub of the Atlantic and Pacific Railroad and relied on the railroad as its primary source of income. The subject of this photograph is Americana-themed with a focus on the saloon from the 1850-1899 time period. The production technique used is original photography and it was manufactured in the United States. The finish of the photograph is matte. This rare piece would make a great addition to any collection of photographic images or photographs.
