Description: Original LARGE World War II US Navy Marines 1945 Poster Battlefield Prayer Vintage 40" x 28" Unique "Strange Prayer" from a US Marine still fighting in the Pacific after the victory in Europe, hoping that the folks at home won't forget how much more is needed and the war effort and human cost still required. This is an original from 1945, not a reproduction or replica. And it's the big one at 40" x 28" - twice as large as the 20x26" version and four times larger than the 14x20" version. Artist: John Falter (1910-82) was known for his many cover paintings for the Saturday Evening Post. These posters were distributed folded and this one has remained that way and will be shipped that way. Listed as "New" because it was never displayed and is in excellent condition. The paper has naturally aged somewhat over 80 years and there may be pinholes at the fold corners; but it isn't brittle. Please be guided by the pictures here. They are part of the description.
