This type of headdress will appeal to military uniform collectors. WINTER HAT USHANKA: It was introduced by order of the People's Commissar of Defense of the USSR No. 187 of July 5, 1940. Higher, senior and middle commanding officers received earflaps made of woolen fabric and natural fur of gray color (at their own expense they could sew from lamb and gray astrakhan fur), and Red Army soldiers - from dark cloth and artificial fur.
