Following a traditional education at the prestigious Ecole des Roches, Noyer attended the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Lyon. He then moved to Paris, where he initially worked in decorative arts and advertising. It was during this period that he discovered his talent for oil painting, officially launching his painting career in 1943. That same year, he met the renowned Parisian art dealer Emmanuel David, who would go on to promote his work and career. Noyer became well-known for his portraits, which became his signature pieces, but he also painted dreamlike figures set in rural or maritime environments. His compositions, classical in technique but surreal in concept, gained significant attention. In 1947, Noyer held his first solo exhibition at the Drouant-David Gallery.
