This is a vintage, original, 1st Edition/1st Printing book from 1922. Ernest Harold Baynes (1868 -- 1925) was an American naturalist from Meriden, New Hampshire. This book is about Polaris, the Eskimo dog. Ernest Baynes received the puppy from Admiral Robert Peary, when he visited Peary in Casco Bay. The dog's parents, Sipsu and Acutah, were 2 of the dogs who pulled Admiral Peary to the geographic North Pole in 1909. See actual book in ebay pics above. This is a nice, rare, vintage, hardback book in collectible condition.
