Playbill for a production of Poor Murderer at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre in New York. LAURENCE LUCKINBILL (b. 1940) is an American actor of stage and film. He has acted in multiple Broadway productions, including A Man For All Seasons (1961), Poor Murderer (1976), and Cabaret (1998). He played the title character in Poor Murderer, but also starred in other Broadway productions. In film, he is most notable for playing Spock's half-brother in the movie Star Trek V: The Final Frontier. JULIE GARFIELD (b. 1946) is an American actress, and daughter of Oscar nominated actor John Garfield. Inspired by her father's career, Julie pursued acting herself, landing roles in both stage and film. Her first Broadway production was The Good Doctor (1973), and would continue on Broadway until 1977's The Merchant. Garfield went on to act in numerous films and screen titles, playing the role of Mickey Conway in Goodfellas (1990) and working in roles on television series such as Forever (1996) and Michael Hayes (1997). She currently teaches at the T. Schreiber Studio. PATRICIA ZIPPRODT (1925-1999) was a Tony Award winning costume designer, known for her work on Broadway. She worked on over fifty Broadway productions, winning 18 awards and being inducted into the Theatre Hall of Fame for her costume design. Though she exceled in her stage work, she also did costume design for film, working on the cinema classic The Graduate (1967). ERNEST GRAVES (1919-1983), stage and film actor, began his acting with a Broadway career spanning 37 years. His first Broadway play was a production of Macbeth (1941), and his last was the original play Golda (1977). He is most notable for his roles on daytime television shows, especially as the character Victor Lord on One Life To Live, spanning from 1968-1974. PETER MALONEY was an actor on Broadway for 37 years, working on twelve productions through his career. He acted in the original productions of Poor Murderer (1976) and Six Degrees of Separation (1990). Wife of conductor and composer Leonard Bernstein, FELICIA MONTEALEGRE (1922-1978) was an actress of Chilean descent. She had a small career on Broadway, only appearing in three plays, though she starred in the production of Poor Murderer (1976). Outside of Broadway, Montealegre appeared on television, having long running appearances in both Kraft Theatre (1949-1956) and Studio One In Hollywood (1949-1956). KEVIN MCCARTHY'S (1914-2010) career began with his portrayal of Biff in the original 1948 production of Death of a Salesman. In 1951, he re-created his role in the film version that launched his movie career. The film assignment that won McCarthy much notoriety was that of Dr. Miles Bennell in Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956), he also appeared in the 1978 remake. In addition to his movie career that thrived for four decades, McCarthy scored a personal theatrical triumph in the one-man show Give 'Em Hell, Harry! He starred in the television series The Survivors (1969), Flamingo Road (1981), The Colbys (1983) and Bay City Blues (1984). RUTH FORD (1915-2009) was a cover girl and model for such photographers as Man Ray and Cecil Beaton before landing roles in Orson Welle's 1938 Broadway productions of Shoemaker's Holiday and Danton's Death. She's primarily remembered for her work on Broadway, which included 16 performances between 1938 and 1980 and challenging roles from Jean Paul Sartre and August Strindberg (William Faulkner reportedly wrote Requiem for a Nun, 1959, with her in mind). Her roles on the silver screen weren't as meaty, and she was generally cast as an ingnue. In all, she had about 50 movies and TV roles between 1938 and 1982. JAMES CARRUTHERS (1931-1995) was a Broadway and film actor, most notably appearing in the original production of Poor Murderer (1976). Best known for his role of H.B. Lewis on Guiding Light (1952), LARRY GATES (1915-1996) was an Emmy award winning actor. He had an extensive Broadway career, appearing in 13 Broadway plays, many of which he starred in. However, his time on Broadway is overshadowed by his work on daytime television, which amassed to over 90 titles total, which his role on Guiding Light being the most prominent, though he starred as Herbert Hoover in the mini-series Backstairs At The White House (1979). MARIA SCHELL (1926-2005), born Margarete Schell in Vienna, Austria) was the older sister of actor Maximilian Schell, who directed a film dedicated to her (My Sister Maria, 2002). Maria Schell debuted in Angel with a Trumpet (1948). Among her other well-known English language films were The Hanging Tree (1959) and The Brothers Karamazov (1960). Schell retired in 1963, but returned to the screen for cameo appearances, as in Superman: the Movie (as a Kryptonian judge, 1978) and Inside the Third Reich (as Albert Speer's mother, 1982). HERBERT BERGHOF (1909-1990) was an actor turned director, beginning his acting career with the Broadway play Reunion In New York (1940). He would perform in many plays afterwards, but would make the switch to directing with the original play Waiting for Godot (1956). Though he directed on Broadway, he would never make the switch to directing film, but did make appearances on film and screen in minor roles. Light toning. Fine condition.
