Description: Amazingly wonderful condition especially for a pop up book! a Panorama style where the entire panel can pullout aprrox 3ft. Truly a unique find for collectors of pop up books, childrens books, nursery rhymes or 1970s era items. Illustrator:Antoinette Delaney. 1976, random house . This vintage collector's edition book is titled "Pop Up Nursery Rhymes" and features delightful period style illustrations of the 1970s.Very much a book of its time! During our nations bicentennial, there was an educational cartoon shorts on weekend mornings called Schoolhouse Rock. This book very much has the same style and feel of the illustrations from that 1970s era. As an illustrator myself, i notice the more muted earthtones color palette common for those times, the exaggerated facial expressions on the figures and animals, the consistent line weight of the ink outlines. Delaney’s composition leads your eye throughout the pages delightfully. A magical, Beautiful, and masterfully illustrated childrens book. I can imagine what a surprising moment it must have been when a child first opened the book and it kept extending and the kept growing! Really a unique, rare and unusual pop up book. As many pop-up book collectors know it is unusual to find a children’s pop-up book without tears or damage. This book is in exceptionally good condition especially for the interior pages . Cover shows slight wear consistent with age. Interior pages are pristine with no tears or wear. slight tab residue on last page from original publisher circle sticker. See pic. Back cover shows sun fade damage to corner see pic, otherwise cover is in very good condition. A hard to find book in wonderful condition!
