Description: This imaginatively modeled two-thousand plus year-old seated female figure is posed with left hand touching her flexed right knee and her right arm is flexed with her elbow resting on her right knee. The vent-hole is concealed atop her head to insure safe firing of this hollow terracotta figure; her body is painted overall with red slip except for her buff ground cap and lower body. She is adorned with circular ear-ornaments and arm bracelets and there are traces of black-painted details, including her eyebrows and necklace. Manganese dioxide deposits provide incontrovertible evidence of prolonged interment. This impressive, museum-grade figure is 7.25" (36.1 cm) tall, 5" (23.4 cm) wide, and 4.25" (17.7 cm) front-to-back and is in excellent condition.
