Description: This little sampler has stitched in cross-stitch the following: AaBbCc A SMALL SAMPLER MADE BT ME SALLY PHILLIPS 1844 AD. ON THE BACK IS HANDWRITTEN: Sally Phillips. rather than just practice the letters on a small bit of linen Sally stitched obiligated letters ABC then added a message all her own. The decorated border resulted from a burst of Sally’s creativity. Then at the bottom is signed. HAND DIDS by Marilyn Fadder 54 North Main IL. Dated 2/90. Couldn’t make out city. I remember the name Hand Dids as they made copies of a lot of antique pieces. So this was a copy of a sampler made in 1844 but it was actually stitched and framed in February 1990 by Ms Fadder. It’s adorable. The stitching is a light tan color on beigh background. It’s in a small frame. The writing on back is black ink. All is very distressed. Looks old. Love it. I’m 82 and having to downsize my wonderful collections. Thank you for looking.
