Starting with the New Martinsville Glass Manufacturing Company, Radiance has a rather unique distinction of surviving not one but two company restructurings: The New Martinsville Glass Company and The Viking Glass Company. In keeping with its namesake, Radiance appears to have been a much-needed guiding light for this troubled glass house. The intent of this reference is to explore the colors, etches, cuttings, and the somewhat ambiguous transition of Line No. 42 from a New Martinsville product to a Viking product. Over 360 illustrations include advertisements, catalog reprints, and stunning photographs of all of the known pieces to have been added to this extensive line, including examples of the decorations that can be found from News Martinsville, as well as from companies such as Silver City.
