Description: 🎸 Own a Piece of Rock History with Modern Flair - 1968 Univox Hi-Flier Phase 1 Guitar 🎸 Note: This Univox Hi-Flier is not like the others you will find. This guitar plays excellently, thanks to the fact that its neck has been completely realigned using the expensive Plek machine process. This is an expensive upgrade, but it results in exquisite playability, with each fret and string position singing perfectly...no dead spots. So this guitar isn't just for looks...it is a serious players guitar! I have included the before and after scan from the Plek process. Also, when this guitar was Plek'd (by the legendary 13th Street Guitars in Huntington Beach, CA), it was setup for 10-52 string gauges (skinny-top/heavy bottom string set). That makes it great for that surf rock / punk tone favored by those who use these Univox's (like Kurt Cobain of Nirvana, Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth, and Mark Oliver Everett of Eels). You can use other strings...but why would you want to? 10-52's are perfection on this guitar. In addition, the pickups have been replaced with DiMarzio Tone-Zone DP 210 High-Output P-90 pickups. This keeps the look and tone of the original pickups, only without all the noise and other issues. The original tuners have been replaced with Grover rotomatics to ensure this guitar always stays in tune, unlike the originals. This guitar has been treasured and kept in safe, climate-controlled conditions, with one scratched area underneath for good measure (you wouldn't want a guitar from 1968 to not have any relics, right?). All of those items are shown in the photos above. Again, this guitar is a rare find, and meant for serious playing. So if you're looking to start up that Nirvana tribute band, here's the guitar you need. 😄 Video For You to Watch: Let me preface by saying, I am not a guitarist! But I felt like I should record a video to let you hear what this thing sounds like. So I did a quick drop D tuning and hacked my way through a rendition of Lithium, and then tried to give you some samples of sounds across the strings and fretboard. But again, I am not a guitarist (so no haters! 😄). This is just for you, so you can hear the guitar being played by a terrible player (me) through a cheap Orange solid state amp under flourescent lights. So watch this, and just imagine how good it will sound when an actual guitarist plays it through a decent amp. Having said that, here's a link to the video: https://www.loom.com/share/04629d469700409bb9e46978e1ec76e9?sid=cee52f47-f9eb-4490-9f77-ba56cf9f7666 Now, let me walk you through this guitar: Key Features:Year & Model: 1968 Univox Hi-Flyer Phase 1Finish: Classic three-tone sunburst that exudes vintage charm.Condition: Excellent condition with professional upgrades for modern playability, including a neck optimization via Plek process, DiMarzio DP210 Tone Zone P90 Pickups, and Grover Rotomatic "Milk Bottle Style" tuners.
