Description: Selling a superb, hard-to-find authentic Ibibio mask from Nigeria, as-is. Very typical of the type and very large and heavy, it does have one glaring condition issue. The wood is torn out between its left eye and the back wall, thus losing the neck knobs on that side. However, it presents very well from the front. Many or most of these Ekpo Idiok masks have articulated jaws. The only holes that could be used to insert cord or fiber "hinges" don't seem to be in the right place. It may be missing the lower jaw, or it never had one (probably the latter). It is 11" x 10" x 7" and weighs 56 ounces. It will be a little costly to ship but I refund any overage paid. U.S. buyers, please. [Boston Primitive] I have to sell my entire African mask collection, like it or not. Off they go - the good, the bad and the ugly - priced right!
