Description: RARE FIND! Offering an antique commemorative set of bone china cup and large saucer plate commemorating the 1916 Easter Rising in Dublin Ireland. Both more than 100 years old and in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. Plate pictures Sackville Street as it was at the time of the Rising with the General Post Office and Nelson column. Made by Victoria porcelain in Austria (the English would never have commemorated their slaughter of the Irish with English china! That's why this set is so rare.) Some of the gilt trim around the top of the cup is worn. The pieces match and are of a shell design with iridescent mother-of-pearl style finish in beautiful condition. A rare find! Sale is final and price is firm - see photos of the actual items taken from all angles which are part of the description an ask any questions before buying.
