Rare Seiko SCWJ89 Watch - DayDateJust Seiko 5 SNXJ 89 7009 Automatic Movement

You are looking at an all original and very rare SCWJ89 (case number 7009-3110), the direct precursor to the famous SNXJ89 of the SNXJ homage line which used the 7s26 movement. This watch is very similar, and is visually identical to, a SNXJ89. If you are looking for an SNXJ 89, this watch will also fit your needs. The biggest difference is the lack of an exhibition caseback which is actually a positive as it makes the watch more slim and helps it slide better under a dress shirt. The date wheel is also metal on this watch as opposed to the later SNXJ, the metal date wheel matches the dial much better and gives the watch a more clean look. The 36mm case size is versatile, as is the venerable 7009 movement that is still running in the watch with a healthy power reserve and good accuracy considering its age and original condition. The watch is all original except for new caseback gasket and crown gaskets, both of which have been professionally installed just prior to putting the watch up for sale. The OEM Seiko folded link jubilee bracelet has an amazing taper and is sized for a 7.25 inch wrist with room to adjust inwards on the micro adjustment clasp. There are no extra links or micro adjustments available to go larger than 7.25. If your wrist is larger than 7.25 inches you will need to source some extra links. The coating on the fluted bezel is starting to wear through a bit. I tried my best to document it on the last two pictures.
