DJ is a later issue and is missing the Caldcott sticker on the front. clipped on the front inside flap bottom corner, with $3.50 price on top corner. According to Sendak expert/author, Joyce Hanrahan (Works of Maurice Sendak) she declares it a true first edition explaining that the Library of Congress catalog number was issued in November 1963, therefore on the first printings in 1964, but not thereafter. Because the DJ is not a first issue and its condition (small stain on lower left back cover) I have priced it accordingly. Still the best children's book every written and illustrations are stunning.
