Description: Winner receives a signed & dated oil on canvas painting by well listed American White Mountain artist Robert J. Pattison (1838-1903). The painting is titled "Hudson River Sloop" and is signed & dated 1888 in the lower right corner, seen magnified in picture 5. The painting is wonderfully executed, and probably the finest work you will find by the artist. The painting is in very good overall condition with no rips, tears, repairs, staining, foxing, or water damage. There is a vertical line of loss along the right edge with minor in-painting, seen magnified in picture 8. There is also a pencil tip sized dent that did not break the canvas, seen magnified in picture 7. It's not visible unless you are a few inches away from the painting. The frame is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, losses, or repairs, but does have minor age related wear. The painting is an absolute gem and ready for hanging as-is. The frame measures roughly 24.75" x 29.75", with the image measuring roughly 20" x 25". Below is some information about the artist, whose auction records include sales up to $4,000.
